Ruby Hall Clinic has been the pioneer of radiation therapy services in Pune since 1973. Three decades later, we were the first in India & South-east Asia to implement “Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT), when we installed the Siemens Oncor Impression Linear Accelerator in 2006.

With a growing experience & reputation we were able to install a second linear accelerator with “unflat beam” facility to focus on high precision techniques like Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) in 2009. After establishing ourselves as one of the finest cancer treatment facilities in the country, we have now taken a step forward by starting specialty radiotherapy services at the new Super Specialty Center at Ruby Hall Clinic. trueBEAM STx

The trueBeam STx radiotherapy system is an advanced medical linear accelerator which is fully integrated for Image-Guided Radiotherapy and Radiosurgery. The trueBeam STx is equipped with “High Definition MLC”, which can accurately shape a radiation beam to treat even very small tumors up to a size of 1cm. For sub-cm sized tumors and functional neuro radiosurgery, cones can be attached to it. A “6D” enabled couch can adjust the patient position in 6 dimensions and take care of rotational movements too, allowing extreme precision. We are proud to state that the Kamalanayan Bajaj Cancer Centre is the first Cancer Institute to bring this state-of-the-art machine to Pune.

RapidArc ® or Volumetric Arc Radiotherapy is a type of rotational treatment which allows an extremely fast and precise form of image-guided, intensity modulated radiotherapy (IG-IMRT). SINGLE FRACTION RADIOSURGERY AND FRACTIONATED RADIOTHERAPY

Stereotactic Radiosurgery is highly conformal and high dose radiation delivery to brain lesions using state of art image guidance and submillimeter accuracy. It is a proven alternative to conventional surgery for treatment of benign brain tumors like meningioma, neuroma,pituitary adenoma and malignant tumors like metastasis,recurrent/residual astrocytoma/GBM. Over more than 15 years ,we have considerable experience in treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs) leading to total cure. Permanent cure for Trigeminal Neuralgia can be obtained without surgery can be achieved by using Functional Radiosurgery. Equipped with frameless immobilisation system and ' high dose rate' Flattening Filter Free (FFF) beam, X-Knife with trueBeam STx allows faster, more precise treatment.

DEEP INSPIRATORY BREATH HOLD TECHNIQUE (DIBH)

This technique is used to treat tumor sites which move with respiration and allows excellent “motion management”. In breast cancer, it can significantly reduce heart and lung dose, which translates into reduced side effects. It is also useful for lung and upper abdominal tumors.

BRACHYTHERAPY

Brachytherapy is a form of “internal radiation” where a radioactive source is placed in close proximity to the tumor tissue. Radiation is delivered in a very focused manner with maximum normal organ sparing. We use Iridium for “High dose rate (HDR)” brachytherapy which allows treatment to be completed in just a few minutes. Brachytherapy is a crucial component in the treatment of most gynecological malignancies. It is alsoused in breast, head neck cancer and sarcomas.

Total Body Irradiation (TBI)

This is a highly specialized procedure in which the whole body receives low dose radiation as part of “conditioning” before a bone marrow transplant. The immunosuppression achieved helps reduce rejection of donor cells and increases the chances of a successful transplantation.
